i'm completely ignorant to the holiday, its A not on my calenders and B i don't know whats its for except something to do with the overthrowing of the french hierarchy lol

I think the French celebrate it as their independance or something like that. I'm not sure. Don't quote me on that

The Bastille was the main prison of the French monarchy. During the revolution, it was stormed by the rebels who, alas, found it nearly empty. They still celebrate it though.
