Truth is, all black folks carry a white gene, and all white carry a black. Though the chance of it becoming a dominant characteristic is exceptionally rare, that doesn't mean it cannot.

Similar to the male/female XY gene issue. All men carry the XY chromosome, but only some of their children are female.

Females carry only XX, males carry XY, so that way the mom's eggs are always X's and the sperms are either X or Y, therefor approx 50/50 ratio of men/women are born.

This "white" baby wasn't from any distant "white blood"...those genes only dilute the melanin, that's why American black people are lighter than pure African people aka "milk chocolate" depending on how much white ancestry is mixed in....but this was a mutation. They were talking about the origins of other races from the original human race; black...that being caused my a mutation like this. That baby is white chocolate!
