In case anyone is interested, here's his plan from his own site.
http://change.gov/
I have yet to peruse it thoroughly, but I plan on looking at it fully.

Hmmm...
Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.
Involuntary servitude?

A way to get things done without making us pay more in taxes?
Of course, we will have to pay someone to oversee all this. Likely many someones.

What will the penalty be if one fails to perform the required hours of service? Fees? Jail?

Is that allowed in our constitution?

Involuntary servitude?
Isn't that what Juvenile Detention Facilities and minor offence chain gangs are for???
If not, it should be.
Unless it is a way to possibly keep some kids out of trouble like an after school activity.
Anyhow, I will read allabout it at home.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will enact a windfall profits tax on excessive oil company profits to give American families an immediate $1,000 emergency energy rebate to help families pay rising bills. This relief would be a down payment on the Obama-Biden long-term plan to provide middle-class families with at least $1,000 per year in permanent tax relief.
Will increasing taxes on oil companies:
a) Raise gas prices at the pump?
b) Lower prices at the pump?
c) Have no effect on prices at the pump?

If you mean what I just posted I just put down some of my reactionary thoughts on the post from Elf. I don't know if it is part of it or not. I will read up on it later.

Haven't read it yet but as part of high school we are required to do 40 hours community service (total) over our highschool years. Not nearly the magnitude but the idea was to build some social responsibility. That and give you at least some experience if you are not working / make you appreciate people that do volunteer their time " Albeit there were a bunch of contingent rules to go with ours about what is and is not acceptable (couldn't mow lawns for free or anything)
