On our way to the ALCS!
Bring on the Indians!
Championship Fall begins in New England.

Sox down 3-1. The Indians are hitting .383 with 2 out, and their pitching is off the hook.
What the Sox need:
a- a spark- like Dave Roberts steal of second in 2004 vs. the Yankees. To this day I point that out as the turning point in that series.
b- to treat the last three games as three one game series, winner take all. You can't look past today if you lose one more.<--most important
c- Shake up the lineup- the regulars in the 1-2 slots aren't hitting- Kielty and Ellsbury might be the spark they need. Runners on base for Ortiz and Ramirez = run production.
d- the bottom of the order need to start hitting- easier said than done when Indians scouting has told the pitching staff to be aggresive on first pitches (the Indians have some ridiculous stat like 21 of 27 first strike pitches by their starters). Conversely, the Sox should look to first pitch swing and stop taking if Cleveland's pitching is being that aggresive.
(Remember 2003, the Marlins were down 3-1 to the Cubs, and Florida's pitcher for game 5? Josh Beckett. He's pitching for us in game 5)

DAMN that was SMOKIN' HOT PITCHING.
Game 6 in Fenway.....It's lookin' bad for Cleveland.
Z...did you hear the dude on the pregame making reference to
jumping off the Tobin bridge?
That was TOO FUNNY. You nailed it dog.
1- I have to give props to the officials last night, its not often I get up and say, "Wow they called a good game" I am usually the first to get on an official's case after a bad call, however the crew should be commended. They handled the Ramirez single, and then the Beckett vs Lofton situations very well. The plate umpire was VERY consistent also.
2- Thank you. If you're not from the area you wouldn't understand the Tobin reference- the Tobin connects north of Boston to Boston, and its a pretty high bridge. Sports radio around here (if you listen) guys will joke all the time about jumping from it to end it all.
I gotta admit, I don't watch too much baseball, but I wanted to seeYYZ30 wrote:CygnusX1 wrote:I gotta give mad props to Beckett.

what all the Red Sox hype was abooot (hel-LOW Can-a-Duh)
and I was impressed.
The Ramirez call was pretty interesting. I noticed how the
announcers slammed him for walking out of the box as his
shot flew and bounced off the monster...so he does this often?
Not cool.
Yeah, it's too funny Z. You just mentioned (bridge jumping) here on
BT, and I turn the game on and here's this guy talking about it...
Crazy!
Wonder if www.thekidfromboston.com has something to say?
That guy SLAYS me. I wanna PARTY with that dude one day.
"I got the balls to say what you're thinking"
That ROCKS.
Don't start none...won't be none.
