Well I flew back to england (i live in jersey) for the manchester gig (im from yorkshire so this was a good excuse to go home for a family holiday).
I have to say, I was a little disappointed the sound was off and the boys seemed to be going through the motions that night. I had great seats and enjoyed the pregig get together, but felt a little bit flat by the gig.

The Manchester Online reviewer didn't seem to think much of the show either.

There are very few critics who
are Rush fans. Oddly enough, the critic for Salt Lake City's largest newspaper
is a Rush fan and gave the R30 concert a
glowing rewiew.

I still stick to my theory that the majority of music critics are actually failed musicians themselves and their failure was due to lack of talent. Hence their criticism of Rush - they're jealous.

Neil made that claim to a Rolling Stone writer once. He retorted in his article that they weren't failed musicians... they were failed
writers!
