That really is some prime real estate. I'm sure the developers made an offer that the studio owner simply couldn't refuse.
Same thing that happened to all the drive-in theaters in my area.

Twas a gorgeous place. And so much history. Ah well...
As for drive-in's we have one in Port Townsend, about an hour away. I want to take my kids this summer. They've never been. The one in my hometown when I was growing up became a K-Mart with a HUGE parking lot before I was a teen. At least I can remember going, though.

That's sad to see, but time goes on.
One day the boyz aren't going to be touring anymore either, so there will
always be dubious milestones in life as well as happy ones.
