I am familiar with a mortal named David. David is an alcoholic of many years. He made his first attempt to quit drinking in 2004, lasting a couple of weeks. He tried to stop again in July of last year. It seemed good, but he had been sneeking beer for weeks. In the fall, he made a third attempt. He was happy about it and was feeling good about himself, therefore he scored a few respect points from me. Earlier this evening (Tuesday), I saw David and he had been different. For some reason, this angered me.

Cursed alcoholics.

And so like spring!

I must admit they do look nice and soft and cuddly. Although, when you get right up to them...well...the wool isn't so soft and the smell isn't so nice all the time and the cuddly...ummmm...if the lamb's mood is right! LOL

Still, they are adorable wee creatures to look at and enjoy.

How the H-E-double-toothpicks did
RUN DMC make it into the RRHOF?

By working with AEROSMITH?

You mean to tell me that (C)RAP is now ROCK?

This is getting to be a farce. :x

And don't get me wrong - I respect Jeff Beck immensely, but exactly
WHAT rock hit did he have?

Somebody make me smart here.... :???:

While they're at it, why don't they just go ahead and induct
David Hasselhoff too?

***heads for the liquor cabinet***

Go through CDs and look at the liner notes. You may find JB's name showing up in the goofiest places. He has done more studio work on other peoples albums than just about anyone.

Often times, he wasn't even included on the liners, but I once heard that he has had a hand in over 1500 albums over the years.

Also, get a look at the Crossroads 2007 DVD. His gig will blow you away!

Yeah, I understand that, and he does kick butt, but wasn't he already
inducted with the Yardbirds in '92?

I respect him for influencing LZ when he had Jeff Beck Group, but still.

I'm not knocking him. I'm happy for him. I guess I'm perturbed that a
more pertininent band today....like RUSH...gets "The Pass" yet again. :x

Would I be considered a heretic if I were to suggest that JB influenced more people than Rush?

I have to disagree.

Run DMC broke down barriers that existed before them. I listened to rap, but remember- I was a city kid and that's what I was exposed to- I can remember going places and watching freestyle sessions on the corners(and rap was good at one time- it was original and different, now, not so much). I knew Run DMC was big when I moved to the suburbs and the white kids there were listening to them even though I knew about them years before. Also, if you go back and listen to their first two albums, there are live instruments on there (electric guitar comes immediately to mind).

Run DMC were that good, and it's a damn shame that Jam Master Jay was gunned down in his own studio.

A guy I was in the Army was a body guard for them before he got in trouble and enlisted to avoid. He was a huge brother.

It's interesting that a lot of Rush fans think the Hall of Fame sucks, but get mad because Rush isn't in it.
