As to how old... it must have been in 1992. I say that because at one point later in that episode Marge tells Homer to "Stop reading that Ross Perot pamphlet!" and grabs it away from him.

Dang... I haven't heard stuff like that since the early 90's. I really got sucked into it then too. Felt rather stupid on my way out... 
Never heard the "go to Europe" thing though. Since it's a new world order thing Europe wouldn't have been any better. The plans back then were to build "covenant communities" where groups could defend themselves from the FEMA troops.
I'm not saying that there won't be harder times ahead or that we should blindly follow our government because they're always watching out for us. But that sutff... geez...
