Thoughts, Theories and Ponderables

Oh see, here's where my parents and I disagree.
We moved when I was in 8th grade- we left the Atari 2600 out in the car for over 8 hours in the sun, and it never worked the same afterwards. I took it apart (screws only!) to see if there was a circuit board loose, or if something had unsoldered itself. My father to this day claims I was the one to break it.
(5 months later I bought myself an NES, and the Atari games went into the closet)

There may be a silver lining there Zed...YYZ30 wrote:I bought myself an NES, and the Atari games went into the closet)
I still have a original NES in the box and I was offered 200 bucks for it.
There are people out there STILL looking for the old games.
I still have a Nintendo 64 just for playing TWO games:
WWE No Mercy and WWE WrestleMania 2000 for N64.
(The 2 best wrestling games EVERRRRR created. No other game has
come close since the PS3 came out, and I haven't seen reviews for
the wrestling games on the PS3...)
you may wanna sell those Atari games on eBay!
I'd look on eBay and see what peeps are getting for 'em....
Don't start none...won't be none.
All of my Atari games are listed as "common" - so I might get 50 cents each for them. I gave them to a old friend who still had her Atari, and for shiggles we'd hook it up to her TV and play them.CygnusX1 wrote:There may be a silver lining there Zed...YYZ30 wrote:I bought myself an NES, and the Atari games went into the closet)

What I would do for my old NES back- I would LOVE to play The Legend of Zelda again.
you know, I could never get to the end of that game to save my ass, butYYZ30 wrote:What I would do for my old NES back- I would LOVE to play The Legend of Zelda again.
Sigette picked it up one day and ACED IT! TWO DAYS! DONE.
Totally freaked me out. I must not have been holding my controller right
or somethin'. hahahaha
I was a "Missile Command" and "Defender" addict on Atari.

Missile Command wasn't bad. Defender...uh, they had the right idea...but bad execution.CygnusX1 wrote:you know, I could never get to the end of that game to save my ass, butYYZ30 wrote:What I would do for my old NES back- I would LOVE to play The Legend of Zelda again.

Zelda- I got caught on the second quest, trying to find level 9...traded the game to a friend, and two years later he asked for his game back. I asked him he he knew where level 9 was, and he told me, and the light bulb went off. I finished the second quest that night.

Defender gave me fits- too many buttons!Walkinghairball wrote:I preferred the stand up arcade versions of those two games.I was a "Missile Command" and "Defender" addict on Atari.
One of the older kids told me "Hey, you your left thumb for reverse!" and the game became better. Missile Command- I am looking to restore one when I get the $$.
I want a shot at the World Record.
Agreed.YYZ30 wrote: Defender...uh, they had the right idea...but bad execution.

Zelda drove me nuts(I got stuck on that level too!), but now I see it as aYYZ30 wrote:Zelda- I got caught on the second quest, trying to find

precursor to more tactical games like "Civilization II" for PS1. I love that
game and still play it on my PS2 today.
