Today Bear officially became a member of the Infantry! I put the blue cord on him myself and am SO proud of my boy and all the hard work he has done these past 14 weeks. I have pics (yes, pics, Bro, it DID happen! lol) but if I don't think of a way to make it happen from my phone I will post them once home again.
He sure looks handsome in his dress uniform!

Today he graduated. It was a touching ceremony with the respect for the past and honor for those who gave so much duly accorded along with the kudos to the men who graduated today as well.
After graduation he wanted to 1) go to the PX for a few things, 2) get the new Megadeth CD, 3) get reading material for tomorrow's flight, and 4) get food. We were able to do all but get the CD. It seems Roadrunner isn't getting the album out to stores and Mustaine is selling the new CD at shows and giving meet and greets to those who purchase it there. If we have to we will buy it off iTunes for now and get him a hard copy later, but he will not leave for his next duty station without it on his iPod.
We had planned on going to the National Infantry Museum but once back to the motel he didn't want to move very much so we are planning on going to the museum tomorrow in the hours we have between checking out of the hotel and needing to be at the airport. Today he has slept much. Can't imagine why he might be tired

Okay, time for a Bear update!
He was home for a bit and has gone over to Fort Lewis in Tacoma. He is being stationed there, which really really rocks because it is only hours from home and he can come visit or we visit him easily!
He has been assigned to the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division and expects to ship out to Afghanistan in 30-45 days. In the mean time, he will train more.
Today he went to his new barracks. He has his own little room and there is a common kitchen and laundry area and a bathroom. He shares with another man whom he has yet to meet.
