Well, this last week we had a lot of rain. So much infact it leeched into the basement...........where WE sleep. Soaked the carpet to squishing over the toes. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!

No we are fixin the problem. WE hope.

Here's pic's of the driveway side of our house. The dirt area is right above our bed in the basement, where it got really wet. Sponging the water out with towels, fans and a shop vac took the floor 2 days to dry out.

My GOODNESS, Hairy! That's awful. I'm so sorry.

I like the guy's tat on his leg, though.

I remember my folks and their driveway. They live on a hill but the driveway goes DOWN from the hill to the house. A nightmare shoveling snow or with spring/summer rains and a flooded basement (with my drums stored there).

They put in a storm drain system ('cause I helped pay for it) that goes down to the street and into the public system so it helps alot. Would that help?

I dunno. I do know that the house, and 5 others in this block are on top of river rock filled pond of the 2 old 1800's cattle mansions a block away. I found out that info last night.

Nice to know this house still ain't done settling. :(

I got a close up of Todd's leg tattoo, I will post it in the tattoo thread.

Well.......................................
34 1/2 bags of concrete, at 80 pounds/per, $118.00 in concrete.
4 hours of awesome friend labor, and we have hopefully fixed our flooding basement.

I even got me some of that cheap sweat shop child slave labor going today.

Here is Scootie giving a hand. :-D

"WOW" Tuff job and looking good Hairy!
You might consider putting a gutter up with a down spout leading away from the house. This way you'll have double the protection...you know the old adage, don't you?
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.

Thanks bro. :-D
Not really sure, but gutters and that are also on the list.

I'm just glad I had Chris there to do all the brain work on the concrete.
I could have done it, (Like crap), but concrete is something I have never done in construction.
When we replace the garbage they called a siding job, that's what I have done a lot of in the last 10 years. :-D
