They badmouth everything about this country and those who protect it under the umbrella of freedom of speech. They are the ones who talk during the national anthem and dont put thier hands over thier heart. Thier generation is a greedy, want it all now, what can my country do for me generation. There are a few out there that do the right thing, ie Zep and t's boy, however sadly he is one of the few. I suggest Raiden, or whoever/whatever the fuck you are, that before you make stupid statments such as this, and its not the first time, that maybe you take the oath so many Americans have, myself included and put yourself in the line of fire for your country and all it stands for. Thann maybe you have earned the right of freedom of speech. Until than, why dont you shut the fuck up and keep your dumbass comments to yourself. and if you don't like what I say, freedom of speech is a two way street, and I have earned it. Have you?

BLAM!!!!!!!!!!!

And so have I, and Cyg, and Zep, and Soup, and BY-Tor himself. A few others I forget at this moment also.

No Matt you are not a wimp, it just wasn't in your future. Your father did enough for us, that alone gives you a pass in my book.

My dad flew a desk in the Air Force, Turkey, and Viet Nam. But he was still in it, to win it. :-D

You guys are almost as bad as the members of Counterparts when it comes to unpopular opinions.

I've made a post of explanation for my comment, but I'm going to wait until you aren't so enraged that I end up getting banished or end up with more hate messages.

Ok, on my part I will say this..........

Unpopular opinion is fine, with something to back it up, you gave none. That left it up to our/my imagination of what I thought you were saying. You pretty much summed up the entire military as a bunch of criminals, and that is just not true. To me, it was unfavorable. Maybe next time a little less "Blurt" and a little more depth might help. Just a suggestion. And from what I have seen from CP, they prey on a reason to start a verbal, we for the most part do not.

I am not Enraged, I was a little mad this morning, but that was then. If you would rather discuss this with me in PM then fire away. I can't and won't speak for the other vets. If you have received hate messages I want to know. That kind of stuff isn't cool.

My wooden nickle. :)

You weren't the only angry one, my friend.

Look, I don't have anything against soldiers or the millitary itself (though whoever made up the "Army Strong" thing needs to be desroyed). Someone wants to take over your country or destroy it, that's one thing.

I don't have a problem with self-defense when it's warranted.
Let's say I put a gun to your head, or a knife to your throat, etc... and threaten to kill you. If you're sound of mind, you don't want to die by my hand. You'd do your best to fight me off to prevent me from killing you, possibly responding with the same force I use. If you end up killing me because I posed a direct threat to your life, that's a bit more understandable. That doesn't work so well if you fear I MIGHT be a threat to your life.

It's the senseless violence and killing I speak against.

Two or more armies killing each other because their higher commands told them to doesn't sound noble or right to me.

Now, where's my water bucket?

Now were talkin Raiden!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

^^^^^^ Is exactly what you failed to mention in the first place that got all the vets on yer 6. And would have been, (in my mind) totally cool. All I ask is that you elaborate on your posts that could be possibly perceived as hostile.

Oh yeah.........*dumps bucket of water on Raiden*  :-D

Unfortunately war is a necessary evil and the people that control them are mostly foolish headstrong people that can't figure it out properly in the first place.

I would say when you are on the field with at war, waiting for that distinction is a luxury you do not have without putting yourself in undue jeopardy which is more likely to get you killed than those you are facing off against. Giving anyone the benefit of the doubt causes enough trouble outside the front, why on earth would you try it at the front.

Me? Hostile? Never! :-D

I sincerely apologize to any veterans I offended. I mean no disrespect, though sometimes my words seem to imply otherwise.

I am not nor am I cool with your explanation. I am sick of hearing the opinions of armchair quarterbacks who sit on their asses and take the moral high ground under the blanket of senseless killing. You have no idea what goes on over there. You see what you see in the media. our guys have seconds to react to a situation and the media and people like yourself can sit back in your nice safe home and debate what they did wrong for months afterward. Like I said, you are entitled to your opionion. These criminals that you speak of have given you that right. and I am entitled to my opinion. You have said some stupid things before, but this one really pisses me off. You are damn lucky you are sitting behind a computer saying some of this bullshit, because in real life, you would have gotten your ass kicked.
