Yeah it is and you do. Some people cook them, some eat it raw. You can get the pads in the supermarkets here and you can also get them canned in the Mexican foods section.

I like the fruit better, but I enjoyed eating the pads well enough.

I'd prolly have to eat them raw. I'm not into cooked fruit too much.
