Guido's chomping at the bit here too....It's all I can do to hold him back with a taser.

That is a cheap shot if I ever saw one.

DSHS is one of my customers. In fact, I was speaking with one of the case managers who actually handled t's moms case. She showed me the literature about how our fine federal government passed into law the right for them to go after aid recipients. This law passed in 2006, and fine typed into the paperwork that was signed by the recipient, or person with power of attorney.

Unfortunately, it is law, and knowledge was sign for by the recipient somewhere along the way.

It was told to me that, when signing someone up for care, they don't always verbally disclose all this information. They leave it to the recipient to read everything. They don't want to lose their funding by not having enough people sign up for their services.

The bottom line, from what I can tell is that we, the people, have done a very poor job in keeping an eye on those in office. They are passing into law whatever they want, while sticking it to the folks they are supposed to represent.

I inquired about legal recourse, and was informed that the law must be followed. They had not heard of anyone being able to buck this one.

First time for everything, I figure.

I am pretty sure some paper somewhere was signed, and I may have signed it as well, but I know no one mentioned it to us. I looked at all the papers I have that I signed and can't find it on them, but who knows.

I am asking the state to see where it is that my mom signed that she knew this would happen. I'm asking a TON of questions, in fact. Like, how is it the law states no recovery during the lifetime of the spouse and yet here you have put the lien on the house and are asking the spouse himself (as well as me) how he plans to repay this. *sigh*

*************NEW RANT*************

Mopeds... I dont care if you get a gajillion miles to the gallon, or that you are doing your part to save the Earth...

just get the F*** outta my way, before my gas hog, smog producing Hemi makes you a part of the Earth.

why must a vehicle with a top speed of 30 MPH ride down the center lane with a long line of traffic behind it during rush hour? I must admit I was feeling some road rage when I put my front bumper on his rear wheel.. but somehow it was satisfying to see the look of terror in his mirrors..
Happy 2015!

Ya know, I have to agree with Soup.

Now, I have nothing against the scooters or moped or whatever myself, and I try to drive safely around them. However, many times I find one of them, or, more in my area, a bicycle, in front of me, in a traffic lane, going much slower than the speed limit. Now, if I were traveling only ten miles per hour less than the speed limit in the lane in my van (and usually ten miles per hour less than the speed limit would be faster than what the scooter/moped/bike is going), I would have to have my blinkers on and in the slow lane or I would be considered a hazard and ticketed. I think that if the scooter, moped, or bicycle can not keep to a speed that fits the road they are traveling on, they should be off on the shoulder, or at least over near the edge of the slowest lane, for their safety as well as my own!
