First of all, that was a great, welcome answer to my question. As long as it's not seen as vulgar coming from a civilian, I salute you (I must look insane to anyone around me and my PC.)Soup4Rush wrote:Let me ask you this question.Big Blue Owl wrote: Just asking; Does being in the military and taken as a POW actually make you more patriotic and a more suitable presidential leader than anyone else?
Would you die for your country to protect other people's freedoms?
Would I willingly give my life for the freedom of others. Wow. Heaviest question I have ever been asked. As a person who considers himself mostly good, my gut-reaction is to type YES with several exclamation points. But as a person who is mostly honest (c'mon, just a few little things, really), I can't immediately respond in the affirmative. I guess I'll take this one for all of us who would hesitate with such a daunting prospect as to not live, cease to exist, "bleeding demise", become a non-breather so that others may live and live freely. Tough one to contemplate, let alone answer honestly and not make everyone think you are selfish, a coward, uncaring, unpatriotic (and several other uns.)
I don't know.
I do not wish to kill or be killed. I am not afraid of death, but perhaps frightened of not being able to live.
