You appear to fit the stereotype, 40-something american with obviously SOME good taste in music. Respect for the 14 shows/13 tours thang...that is cool.
I'm guessing you like your beer and archival classic rawk? You believe the seventies to be the pinnacle of musical expression, wear a baseball cap and drive a gas guzzling pick up truck right? Then again you dissed the Soups' obvious 'lets bond by talking baseball (or is it football)' olive branch...so there may be hope for you yet! Welcome.
ps: why do 'newbies' never post the 'hello i'm new' thing in the general section?
Thanks for the warm welcomes! You pretty much summed me up...except for the part about the baseball cap, (I don't own any baseball caps)and "dissing" Soup's olive branch, I'm just not into sports. And yes, he's talking about what we Americans call "football".
p.s. I have an '03 Chevy S-10 pick-up truck that gets pretty good mileage.

Keep it up for another ten years or so, and the term, "Boston sports" may not make people laugh. Then again, you still have the Bruins and Celtics, so I'm sure the laughter will continue.
Man, I only show up around here once in a blue moon these days, and the first thing I do is rag on somebody about sports? What's wrong with me? Oh yeah, I'm a guy.
What was this thread about anyway?
Don't tell me about rock and roll I'm out there in the clubs and on the streets and I'm living it! I am rock and roll!

Bruins in 2nd place, Celtics could do some damage in the East.
And I'll have two new trophies to polish, one in a few days, and one
on February 3rd.
