Ahh c'mon Myghin, surely you've at least heard The Who and Van Halen songs, no? If you haven't heard VH "Everybody Wants Some," the funniest way to get to know the song is to watch the film Better Off Dead...John Cusak's Dr. Frankenstein fantasy is a classic, set to the DLR melodic (?) crooning.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra...now there's some cool music! (sorry, no pun intended, Vladimir)

Currently, I have Norah Jones's newest disc in my CD drive...mellow, beautiful...good study music.

Well, the one's that stick out are: "She", which is a live favorite for KISS, in concert. "Larger Than Life" and "Tonight You Belong To Me" are off of various KISS tributes albums. Steve Vai's "Final Guitar Solo" is at the very end of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, right before "God Gave Rock & Roll To You" gets played. "Eruption" is a Van Halen cover, done by my old band.

OK.. how about this block:

Missing Persons - "Give"
Guns N Roses - "Pretty Tied Up"
Weird Al Yankovic - "Polka Party"
Living Colour - "Memories Can't Wait"
Ozzy Osbourne - "No Easy Way Out"
Mr. Big - "Static"
Japan - "The Art Of Parties"
Rush - "Cold Fire"
Union - "Empty Soul"
Led Zeppelin - "No Quarter"
Faith No More - "Epic"
Angel - "Virginia"

Did you offer to help him pay for a set of wook blocks so he could play that cool interlude? All things considered, if I were your drummer, I'd probably laugh too...and then try to learn the part. As it is, though, I'm still trying to get down a killer Peter Erskine-like jazz ride pattern...a lot tougher than it sounds...and then throw in those eighth note triplets on the offbeat and those little sixteenth note ghost notes...oi veh :!:
