There's one thing that's bugging me about this...
The one juror who spoke publicly Friday about how the jury made up its mind in the Martha Stewart trial called the guilty verdict a victory for "the average guy.''
''Maybe it's a victory for the little guy who loses money in the markets because of these types of transactions, the people who lose money in 401(k) plans,'' Hartridge said.
This guy is so blatantly biased it's scary. I hope if I'm ever in front of a jury, I can really get a jury of my peers and not a jury that's obviously hostile.
This is sort of the flip side of the O.J. Simpson trial where the jury didn't even want to hear the evidence because they were so eager to stick it to the LAPD by setting O.J. free.
Both events are spooky to me.

Well... this is interesting... reported on September 8...
Westport's Martha Stewart will surrender to start serving her five-month sentence for obstructing justice as soon as there is a vacant cell at the Danbury federal prison, the New York Post reported today.
The newspaper's Page Six gossip column quoted an "insider" as saying: "There is no available bed at Danbury, and hasn't been for a couple of weeks. She's just waiting."
The report quoted Tracy Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Bureau of Prisons as saying that both the low-security women's jail and the minimum-security women's "prison camp" in Danbury are "crowded."
The Post said Stewart's daughter Alexis, 38, will oversee her media company while her mother is in prison.
I've never heard of someone waiting for an opening to start serving their prison sentence. Suppose they'll let her decorate her cell?

She can buy whatever she wants, no doubt. When her suite opens up.

Her cell most likely has a hot tub in it.
