I've heard about those. I think it is a great idea but wonder how many of us in developed areas will take advantage of this deal.

I would like to do this for Dovey (I don't think the boys would like the childish graphics), but the $400 is a bit much at this time.

Heard about those a while ago. I think it is a retarded idea. It is a highly westernized ideology that stinks of vanity. Why does everyone in the world need computers just as we use them so highly? It is a waste and there are many better uses for technology than passing hand me outs to try and make people more like us. In most respects a society without computers is a better thing. Tired of watching people fret when their system goes down ,or awry.

All the negativity makes my hair stand on end.

I think it's a good idea giving more children an opportunity to learn.

Never said anything about superiority, I personally do not think computer superior and frankly I could get along alot better without them. Why corrupt the simpler life?

Because we want to push our western culture on everyone else, remember? And because they have the same right to instant porn as you and I do! ;)

btw... that was a joke. I have formed no opinion on this program.

My daughters have some spray-on conditioner that could probably help with that.

Actually it's usually a positive static charge that makes your hair stand on end.

Doesn't every single child deserve to have option to learn and grow and decide for themselves how to get out of the shithole they may live in. What better way for a child to learn than a computer that fascinates most of them to no end. Selfish to say developing countries should not have our western mentality towards technology. Or we could just go back to the dark ages but...

I prefer the age of Aquarius

Heck yes!

Geez, even kids in bad conditions in this country need to learn that it doesn't always have to be that way for them.

Right on, sister. Myghsie is just jealous that he had to wait until his teens to get a PC. I'm positive that him having a computer and hanging out with his By-tor buddies has contributed to my ability to understand his English. :-D
