A new acquisition
I got a phone call on Friday from an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. He told me he was having some money trouble and that he needed to make a house payment. I was afraid that he was about to ask me for a loan and I was trying to decide how to react. But he surprised me by asking if I'd like to purchase his keyboard for a couple hundred dollars under market value (meaning what he could get for it on eBay).
I asked him if I could sleep on it. He said that I could.
Initially I thought I didn't want to make a purchase like that right now, but when I awoke I found that I really just wanted to help a friend out of a jam. So I made the purchase yesterday and hid the keyboard in the basement. It will resurface on Christmas morning.
Oh, it's a Korg Triton Pro. And if Rick Wakeman uses it... I'M NOT WORTHY!!!
edit: I accidentally typed Trident instead of Triton

Now that's a versatile instrument! Should be called a keybed or a bedboard, though.ElfDude wrote: I asked him if I could sleep on it. He said that I could.
I used to sell those at Sam Ash. They are absolutely superb! Everyone wanted one and they were always out of stock. Good choice for you and your buddy, buddy.Oh, it's a Korg Trident Pro. And if Rick Wakeman uses it... I'M NOT WORTHY!!!

I was looking at the manuals last night. I am overwhelmed. It's gonna take some time to learn how to use this thing.

Typo alert! I meant to type that it was a Triton Pro, not a Trident.Big Blue Owl wrote:I used to sell those at Sam Ash. They are absolutely superb! Hey, that wouldn't be Rick Wakeman in that pic would it?
Over 20 years ago I purchased a new Korg DW8000, and it has served me well that whole time. Been to lots of gigs with it and recorded lots of tracks. But it'll be nice to have new sounds and sampling available to me. Oh, and the vocoder feature! That's gonna thrill my daughter!
