I'm so proud

Post by schuette »

I was at Jade's parents night and she got a great report :-D

she's top of her class in science and one of the top in tech

after talking to the science teacher she is now taking Biology as well as Chemistry...she was told that the teacher would be disappointed if she didnt take at least 2 science subjects
Also she was wanting to take Graphic Communication but her tech teacher said that that would be too easy for Jade so she is now taking Tech Studies instead...and the teacher said that all the tech teachers would be fighting to get her in their class :-D

the subjects that she will be doing standard grade in is...

Maths
English
(she has been studying these 2 subjects for standard grade since last year as she was in the top of her class for these)
Modern Studies
Chemistry
Biology
Tech Studies
Home Economics
Music

to say I'm a proud mum is an understatement :-D

Wow, Schu! Terrific! I think I'm proud too! :-D

On a side note I'm so glad to see Music in there as well. So many schools are myopically dropping the Arts and I think they are so important in making a better rounded person. :)

Drums are H-A-R-D!

Singing goes well with piano though. Do they make her learn theory too?

Define standard grade. We don't use that term here.

Standard Grade
Definition of Standard Grade

A two-year course generally taken over the third and fourth years at secondary school, with an exam at the end of the fourth year.

There are three levels: Credit, General, and Foundation. Students generally take exams at two ? Credit and General, or General and Foundation. This makes sure that students have the best chance of achieving as high a grade as possible. Coursework is also assessed and projects, or folios, count towards the final mark along with the exam.
