I am wondering if any of you have seen different versions of the story. I have read the book, watched the 50's movie, Tom Cruise movie, Pendragon version and have the rock musical. The Pendragon version and the rock musical are the only ones to be very similar to the time the martians attack on earth. In the book, they attacked London and it was based in the late 1800's and whatever people tried didn't work even sending a battleship. The musical went live in europe and went on tour during the month of April. Now that it ended, they are going to release it on dvd around November. Tell me who has seen which version? :-)

I saw a version of it when I was a kid. It was the 50s version.

I saw the plane crash scene all laid out at Universal Studios this spring too, if that counts. LOL Looked like a plane had crashed. Go figure.

Are you going to get the dvd of the show when it is out sometime later this year Schu? I belong to another board dedicated to the show and I hear good stuff about it. :-)

The first time Dan played the soundtrack for it, I didn't pay much attention until I listened to it a few times and enjoyed it. It's a great piece of work and they finally turned it into a live show. A few lucky people went to go see it in the UK. :)

Yep, I have that and it is good. My son resurrected it recently due to studying it at school.

Not sure. I was listening to the music version so I dunno where this topic would go to. Since the music version is going to be on dvd in a few months, maybe but this is ok.

As of yet, I've seen the original film (starring Gene barry) which I love and the Spielberg remake which I despise. I've not managed to see the other version that came out recently but, hopefully, I'll rectify that soon.

I remember mt sister getting the album back in the late 1970s and being blown away by it (I think it was the first concept album I'd ever heard) and I still love it to this day. In addition, I have heard the Mercury Theatre Radio boradcast which was very impressive.

Sadly, I can't afford to go and see the stage version that is coming around.
