I'm really really sad as Sauron died on Saturday..........he was old - he would have been 15 in May - and I loved him dearly. He was a shit but also really affectionate...I miss him so much.....and so does Roach, his sister, this is the first time that's she's been on her own and she's wandering around miaowing all the time so I'm giving her lots of TLC the now.
If it wasn't for the kids I wouldn't get another pet as it's too hard when they go....

I'm sorry about the sadness at your house. Cats leave paw prints all over our hearts.

You can have both though. The dog runs my house until the cats have had enough and tell her how. There's never been even a little injury to either of them.

Roach is too old to have a dog the now.........I'll let her spend her winter years getting lots of attention.......not that she never before...
maybe I'll get a kitten and a puppy at the same time then they'll be cool together

It really sux losing a pet, Schu. My wife and I had to give up our three cats when our kids were born. They were the jealous type and we didn't want the kids to get hurt.... now that they are growing, we've been talking about getting a cat. I have been around cats all my life. I had a cat that lived to be 15 as well.... and when he went, I was devastated. Now he's got a nice shady spot in the yard.

Saurons buried next to his daughter Hippy just round the corner from my house.....I have no garden. It's hard walking past the spot but like Hippy I know that it will soon be a comfort. I'm gonna bury Roach there as well and then I'm gonna plant some Heather there...

D.A. and I are sorry for the loss of your baby Schu. I mourn for my little Casper. I sometimes think he will come to the gate when I get home from work. I miss his little bark and when he pretends to bite when I play with him. At least Sauron went naturally and you didn't have to do the hardest thing of a pet parent's life. This little one was my Casper when he could still walk. My other baby behind him is Skippy.

It really is shitty when you expect them to be there when you get in...
