Rush for Asia

Oh what a night,
What a beautiful night.

When Oaks think of the Maples
They shiver and think "It's Cold."
Canada wasn't cold that January night
When all the stars came out bright;
They gave of themselves,
Of their time and of their talent,
And pled with their fellows to give...

That tragedy stricken brothers
So very far away might live.
Not only brothers, but sisters and children too
Devastated by an angry sea
Bringing death and grief with equal opportunity.

Broad leaves those maples have,
They've sheltered a kind and generous nation
Ready to give shelter where suddenly there was none.

Oh what a night,
What a beautiful night,
With Earthshine hanging low in the western sky,
When the stars came out in Canada,

RUSH was the brightest star of them all.

RUSH RULZ!!!
BOYS, YOU MAKE US SO PROUD.

Beautiful poem! I got to see it but (I said on another thread) Rush.com should have at least the Rush part available.

Thank you, happysmiles, Kares and schuette. It was an awesome night. Rush right BEFORE the Prime Minister of Canada! How often are you going to see that? It was such a relaxed and from the heart performance. If you love Rush you gotta love this one!

Yester...

When the video (DVD) comes out (which now I know it will for sure) wouud you be willing to givve us more? Or was this just a "one-time-thing?" :)

Kares

I could try to do that. My poems aren't roses, they are more like dandilions. When you plant a rose, you know where to expect one to appear. Mine just sprout up like dandilions here and there along the way.

I don't know as much about the other performers that would be on the DVD, and like you I'm sure this will turn up in another form, but I certainly admire both their cause and national pride.

If, several years ago, one of us had said that Austin Powers (Man of Mystery) would be introducing Rush....nay, GIVING us Rush, he said, who would play just before the Prime Minister of Canada spoke someone would have said we were On the Train to Bangkock... and oddly enough, some of the money they were raising will go to Thailand. There is a pattern in there somewhere, I just can't find the weave of the thread. When I do, I'm sure another dandilion will pop up.

Thanks for your encouragement.
