Ode To Neil

Having been a huge fan of Neil's lyrics for a long time, a few years ago I decided to use Neil's own words to create my own ode to Neil. It took wuite a bit of time to pick out lyrics of similiar themes and then make them fit together. I hope you like it and it's not too cheesy!
Ode To Neil
I lie awake
with secrets spinning around my head,
something that somehow escaped me.
Overwhelmed by everything,
but wanting more so much,
the world weighs on my shoulders,
but what am I to do?
Too many hands on my time,
too many feelings,
too many things on my mind.
Bright images flashing by,
like windshields toward a fly,
too many rapids keep me sweeping along.
I let my past go too fast,
no time to pause,
no time to slow it all down,
it slips through your hands like water.
You can?t face life on a razors edge,
nothing?s what you thought it would be,
illusions are painfully shattered.
If only I could wave my magic wand,
I?d make everything all right.
Some are born to rule the world
to live their fantasies,
but most of us just dream about the things
we?d like to be.
Sometimes are big splashes
are just ripples in the pool,
and we break the surface tension
with our wild kinetic dreams.
The point of the journey is not to arrive,
anything can happen,
and you can do a lot in a lifetime,
if you don?t burn out too fast.
Dreams are sometimes catching
and lady luck is golden,
she favors the bold,
so get out there and rock,
and roll the bones!
