Dag, I was editing while you were posting...or are you just channeling? BTW, I have most of the F.M. CD's. Ebay has been berry-berry goot to me I could see making a few copies, or putting some of their stuff on the web. Really cool song is "Phasers On Stun" (always their last song of the night).

I do have an LP of that album... Black Noise. Of course, yeah, that was Nash the Slash on that album and not Ben Mink. I didn't like the following album as much.

Which tour was Eric Johnson on? That would have been great! I've seen some pretty lame warm up bands for Rush... the worst of which was The Fabulous Thunderbirds. I remember half of the crowd booing at them.

I saw some decent acts warm up for them too... April Wine, Gary Moore, Mr. Big. Well, okay, I didn't really like Mr. Big much except for Billy S's bass solo. That guy is amazing.

Yeah, Billy is an East-coast guy who would play little bars in Balto. with Talas. He would hang a guitar in a hook from the low ceiling on one side of him, and a bass on the other, opposite. Then he would put his arms through the straps holding them up and percussively play a simultaneous solo on them. Un friggin' believable!!!!! All for 3 bucks per person.

Eric Johnson was on the Signals tour. Saw that one in Cincinnati.

He's a very painty musician. If you close your eyes during one of his songs, you see tons of color, mood, emotion. On the surface though, you get a great guitar player with a rhythm section that does pretty much the same thing in every song. Accurate?

Though I was just a little tyke at the time, both the Viet Nam war and the Watergate hearings had a pretty profound effect on my outlook of things.

I am old enough to have been around, but not old enough to remember it when it all happened. I was nicely sheltered away from much of it my first years as we moved into the hills and I got hidden away from society and that nasty TV thing when I wasn't in the hospital.

I just got back from playing a gig. The adrenaline is still pumping. I blew it a couple of times with the singing... starting where I shouldn't have and forgetting one line. But overall we were pretty tight.

It was an outdoor gig... bands playing all day so we had to keep it under 30 minutes. The setlist was:

1. Twist and Shout
2. Gettin' Older (original)
3. Brown-eyed Girl
4. Cheesecake Blues (original)
5. I'm a Believer
6. Blue Suede Shoes
7. Johnny B. Goode

My brother plays a mean vintage lead guitar, so stuff like Johnny B. Goode really cooks when he loosens up. I hope to have pictures soon.

Now tonight I'll start suffering from PPD. Post Performance Depression.

I'm familiar with all the songs you quoted, Elfdude. In relation to FM radio, are we at the cutting edge here, or a decade ahead or behind?
I've heard them all over and over again when I caught lighting bugs, jarred them up and smeared them on Once was enough Now children don't go do any bullshit like that, watch the worm twist as it burrows.

Elfdude please try to remember your talking to someone that has to surf the web for any trivia on the above mentioned songs or the bands that sang them. I remember them being cool though, that's going back some time. I suppose a nice history lesson
in music, for those who wish to listen, as the rung rises.
