BTW, I posted this because I briefly visited a crappy, unfriendly Rush board and made the mistake of reading their comments on the new album, which were unnecessarily critical, petty and harsh. Needless to say I haven't been back there for a visit since.Big Blue Owl wrote:I still can't bring myself to detail my opinions of S&A. So I just didn't want to wander down Opinion Lane again.
Damn, it's pretty "gay" that it (Rush) means that much to me, I guess. The funny thing is, now that I have read all the reviews in this thread, I feel very uplifted and want to crank Snakes up to 11!
I guess that's the difference at By-tor. Sensibility, interesting differences, eloquence, humor, honesty, outlandishness, friendship. It's all 'ere!

I'm still stuck on the other thing you said. Are you really telling me that this whole board isn't all about me?Big Blue Owl wrote:BTW, I posted this because I briefly visited a crappy, unfriendly Rush board and made the mistake of reading their comments on the new album, which were unnecessarily critical, petty and harsh. I'm starting to come round to S&A a lot more since I posted on this thread previously. IMO, most of the songs have little hooks that gently ease under the surface and pull you in gradually.Big Blue Owl wrote:BTW, I posted this because I briefly visited a crappy, unfriendly Rush board and made the mistake of reading their comments on the new album, which were unnecessarily critical, petty and harsh. I love Workin Them Angels, Far Cry and Monkey beyond belief.
Hope, Larger Bowl, Mal Nar and We Hold On are very good.
Armor & Sword I have come along to like, and it is growing on me.
Good News First is decent.
Bravest Face is still a struggle,
though the melody is growing on me.
and The Way The Wind Blows,
I just am not getting into.
I would say I like this effort more than Vapor Trails.
