I was gonna say that Randle-El blew-the-hell-up for the Redskins
Sunday with a career day, but it has nothing to do with NE.

I think we were lucky to win the 1st, and stacked to win the last 2 titles.
I doubt they cheated their way to those.
I do remember McGinnest, but I think he did that on his own.
I'd be more pissed you couldn't gain a yard to win, than on that though.
:-D

This is just a dumb thing to do.
Each team was warned before the season
about this.
Plus we are better than them, so why go to that level?
Every team tries to steal signals, they just don't tape them.

Whatever we get, we deserve.
The worst thing would be a forfiet.
A draft pick loss or a one game suspension would be
a slap on the wrist.

Course the Dolphins got nothing for buying a tape
of Brady's signals....

According to what I heard on Mike and Mike this morning (ESPN radio)- it was the national feed (CBS), plus teams mike one of their upmen on the D line, (think tackle or nose guard) and record that. That was not against the rules.

It would be easy for a team to chart which play a defense gets into, then WRITE DOWN the signals sent in by the D-coaches. <-This does not violate the rules and makes a handy cross reference, although next year I think the defense will be allowed on player to have a radio earpiece so this can be avoided.

Ahhh, good clarification.

Why tape it?
Every team has someone that watches
the opposing coaches.
Write it down.

To now have all Pats haters chime in on
past years now is gonna suck.
And it wouldn't be uncalled for...... :(

They cheated and got caught- let the haters say what they will about it. They're jealous that they didn't win it all, thats all. The Pats will ged what they deserve from Goodell, and move along.

To the haters...what did Marie Antoinette say... "Let them eat cake"?

I am not a hater, although I think the Pats and Belichek have done some uderhanded things in the past. not illegal just not right. maybe LT had a legitmate right to bitch after the Pats/SD playoff game last year. I think in the public eye outside of the New England area, this taints the 3 super bowl championships much like Bond's HR record. now the question is Brady really better than Manning? sounds like Belichek was in Manning's head literally as they are investigating rather the Pats were listening to their headset conversations as well. This would have really pissed me off a few years back, but now that we have our own ring, to me its not that big of a deal now.
Happy 2015!

I know you're not a 'hater' Soupy, I did mean in general.
I've got a Raiders guy bugging me about the tuck rule again.

LT was mad we were making fun of Merriman and his sack dance thing at midfield. Not at anything game related.

If the Pats are proven to have tapped into helmet conversations, that would be another huge thing, and would really hit me in the gut.

Was Brady ever better than Manning though?
Maybe 2004 overall, and maybe a little bit in 03,
but before that no, he had trouble with the long throw.

Hey on that McGinnest play though, while it was cheap,
the rule is that no injury by a team without timeouts can stop the clock.
And the refs know that, so it was really their mistake for stopping the clock and letting the Pats reset. Not that it makes you feel better....

Kick him in the junk and ask if his junk is now rolling freely or "tucked" in, and tell him there's his answer to that question.

If the communications systems at games are hardwired, it's TOTALLY wrong to eavesdrop. Bring the hammer down already....

On the other hand, if it's wireless, it's nothing that can't be picked up
with tuned scanners...

BTW, I don't know the whole story here, so somebody enlighten me pleeeeze.

One of the defensive coaches was videotaping the Jets d- coaches sending in signals so they could match signal with play and gain an advantage.

Also there were some reports of "problems" with certain frequencies during the game. The system is wireless.

I have to jump in here and say this guy over on ESPN Hashmarks echoes what I said when I first heard about this:

There are people on both sides of this argument that really make themselves look like morons.

First off, I am a Patriots fan, have always been and remember the 1-15 seasons. (1989 anyone?) Secondly, some of you other Pats fans, shut the **** up, we got caught violating a league rule, admit it and face the consequences. There is no walking around it, it is black and white.

For you Patriots haters, shut the **** up, you are only piling on because you hate us because we have had a tremendous amount of success in the past and at some point have beaten up on your team. And if you don't think this is something that has been going on for a long time you are stupid and naive. Stealing signals is something that has been happening in the NFL for DECADES. Some people call it gamesmanship, some call it cheating. I call it cheating, and when you get caught you pay the price.

As a Patriots fan, I understand that and agree that in some form or another we will be punished justly. I am man enough as a fan to say, "Yes, my team did something wrong and now they have to pay the price" Before you Patriot-haters start roasting your marshmallows.. you should probably think about what your team is doing... maybe they haven't been caught yet. The NFL is ridiculous with the amount of paranoia on this subject. Why do you think some teams employ three people to send signals in? Or why they put clipboards up to their mouths when calling in signals? Or why they bring in former players for "interviews"? Everyone is looking for an advantage, none of these teams can just "line up and play". There...
