How does it compare to the original? I haven't heard it yet.
By and large I'm leary of remakes by the original artists. The Police's reworking of "Don't Stand" stank and I'm not wild about Genesis's reworking of "Carpet Crawlers."

Shortly after releasing Tubular Bells, Mike became disappointed with the mistakes he could hear himself making in the album and also certain poor quality aspects of the recording. He wanted to re-record the whole thing, but wasn't allowed to by contract... for 30 years. Once the 30 years were up he re-recorded it to his satisfaction It sounds like the original, only cleaner and a little smoother. And since Viv Stanshell isn't around, John Cleese takes his place as the Master of Ceremonies.
I don't know if you've heard Tubular Bells 2 or Tubular Bells 3. They're both different sounding albums, but I like them both a lot as well.
I was on the other side of the library, but, knowing those ladies in the Children's Department, it was likely followed by a smile and then a quiet reminder.
