Woo hoo!!! My band finally has some gigs lined up, the first is on May 15th. You're all coming to Utah, right?

Yeah, right. We might put on a fun show, but you must never spend money in order to see us! Save that for travel and tickets to expensive Rush shows (which always end up being worth every penny!).

Congrats Elfdude! Have fun at your shows, but stop with the "save your money" thing. You'll go broke! :D
Rock on, wish I could attend.

Fortunately, we all have day jobs.

But the ex is trying hard to make me broke anyway...

Trust me, it's a lot worse being her ex than it is being my ex.

indeed everyone knows musicians that aren't rolling stones, aerosmith or select drummers are usually great people,

Because of Zivo's recent posts, I felt compelled to dig up an old one of my own. This was June 3, 1981 in Salt Lake City.

Very nice dude! What year is that one? It looks like the tour I saw them with Eric Johnson opening the show. BTW, do you mind if I copy the photo to my hard disk?

On second thoughts, it looks like the tour I saw them with F.M., the Ben Mink/Nash The Slash thing from Canada. (I peeked at the file name and saw "Rush81  )

Well, they're pretty obscure, I dunno if you've ever heard of them... Canadian trio... they're playing a song called Tom Sawyer. The bass player had this weird name... Smeggy or Greggy or Geddy or something like that...

Seriously, I know Alex is pretty bleached out by the spotlight, but I thought Geddy was recognizable (along with the logo on the bass drums).

June 3, 1981.

When we saw them I really fell for the warm up band. It was another Canadian trio called FM. A bass/keyboardist who also sang, a drummer, and Ben Mink on violin and mandolin (the guy of My Favourite Headache fame). They were really cool.
