Howard Dean talks politics in ICC
by John Cooke
Howard Dean showed up to talk about Black History Month but the focus quickly changed to politics Tuesday night in ICC Auditorium.

The Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former Governor of Vermont contrasted the two parties? presidential candidates, saying that with a woman and an African-American as the two front-runners, the Democratic field ?looks like America,? while the all-white male Republican field ?looks like the 1950s and talks like the 1850s.?
That statement caused me some thought. With the exception of civil rights issues (thank Heaven for the progress we've made there), the government of both the 1850's and 1950's had a LOT more common sense than the government of today. I would love to have a president with morals and values of 150 years ago. [rant]We didn't tax and spend. We didn't redistribute wealth. Our schools taught history instead of political indoctrination. We didn't believe for a moment that the government be responsible for everyone's retirement. We wanted government to stay out of our private lives. I could go on and on. [/rant]

Is it any wonder I like using books from the past instead of the texts put out today?

I am glad they aren't making a huge media deal out of this one and possibly freaking the mother.

I wish I could go to this conference. But I'm not a scientist. I just work for them.

Nor am I a member of the press.

And as Sowell says at the end of the argument, the mass media will most likely largely ignore this happeing.

If my own father, who was a marine, had appeared in a video like this and I saw it, I would have beat him to death with a shovel without hesitation. BLAM!, you dirty, brutish piece of unfeeling crap! He was a kind and gentle soul, so it wouldn't have happened, but after watching this video I have no compassion or mercy for any tough guy who brutalizes the helpless.

Motari, you will pay! And to the others on this video who think wanton killing and maiming of innocent animals and people is fun and worth a laugh, you will get yours as well.

When I heard about this, I decided not to even watch it.

I was relieved to hear that the Marine Corps is taking it seriously.
