I don't get "catch and release" and all. I must be stoopit or something. Actually it sounds cruel to me.

When I caught that lovely bass I wanted to take it home and cook and eat it. It was big enough and all for the "law" (thank yew very much I was impressed too--ya right).

That's what we did when we were kids when my Da brought home bass and pickerel (bony-assed fish but tasty).

My bro made me put it back.

Now I love God's creatures and never want to hurt a soul but that guy was made for LUNCH in my book.

I love the beasties too Kares, but they taste soooooooooooooo much like dinner it's hard to not eat them.

You are joking right? Pickerel don't have any bones if you remove the row of Y bones, they are like pike that way.

My bro went catfishing yesterday about 2 hours west of Nashville. f I looove catfish but never had it straight out of the water like this.

Here are some pics. (Hope nobody is squeamish here...if so I'll remove them)

Marn's step dad got 2 wild turkeys on sunday morning. I will post them later.

Ok. I plomised some turkeys............................here you go.

Step dad John went out at 4am, he was back at 6am with these 2 birds.




We will be eating them on Mothers Day up at the lake with Marn's folks.

And we will be splitting a pig with them shortly.

I have a red-tailed hawk here that TAKES stuff too, like CHICKENS.

I had to totally enclose my birds after a red-tailed hawk mutilated one
of my hens.

It didn't even take it. It just tore the neck meat off the chicken and
left the carcass. If it weren't for federal wildlife protections (and the
hawk's status with Native Americans), I'd be having some hawk chips
and hawk dip.

Recently I also saw a Cooper's (or "Blue Darter") Hawk watching the
wild bird feeder too.

That's life in the country though. Nobody said it was easy.
