Schu, if you are still having trouble with your PC, it could quite simply be that is is clogged up with malware which would not be stopped/detected by anti-virus software.

You can find this out very easily. there are three programmes you can download for free: Spybot, Ad-Aware and Crapcleaner (if you can't find them let me know and I will get them for you, or at least post a link)

Install them and run them all. I warn you, if that is the problem, then it will take quite some time to get rid of it all.

Once done, reboot and fingers crossed.

failing that, it could be that the innards need a good clean. if you are not confident then get someone who is clued up (Not those scumsuckers at PC World!) to do this for you.

Good luck!

the guy who I bought it from has taken it back and he said he'll see to it....he left a computer as a replacement and it doesnt work!!!...luckily I had my old comp to fall back on

I wanted to install ad-aware and crap cleaner as I've got them and I really like them but he told me not to install them as it would bugger up Norton or something like that...

For a start, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about because that is rubbish...

Furthermore, get rid of Norton immediately! It is a piece of crap which costs money and slows down your PC. Download Antivir for free. Not only is it better, you will notice a difference in PC speed.
