I totally agree Funky. Totally.

Throw a couple of not-so-popular or washed-up divas in the mix, and you
have a second-rate rasslin' show ready for obscure cable TV channels.

This just in Funky:

At this past Sunday's No Way Out PPV, the new WWE Champion HHH
made history when he won the title in the Smackdown Elimination
Chamber Match.

He has now held the WWE Title more times than any other superstar
in company history, with No Way Out being his 8th win.

Trailing behind him is The Rock, who has held it 7 times.

Additionally, this past Sunday marks the first time Triple H has ever
pinned The Undertaker, as he has been unsuccessful in every past
encounter with The Dead Man.

RAW is a live show. They tape ECW first (for Tuesday night), then change
the ring skirts and swag over to RAW.

Anyway, RAW is usually on live TV.

"Schmuckdown" is taped on Sundays (I think).

82 Year Old Verne Gagne Suspect In Death
Of 97 Year Old

BLOOMINGTON - An 82-year-old Minnesotan wrestling legend is under
investigation after the death of his 97-year-old roommate.

Police believe that Verne Gagne may have contributed to the January
death of Helmut R. Gutmann, who lived with him in the Bloomington living
facility, Friendship Village. Gagne and 97-year-old Gutmann, who both
suffer from Alzheimer's-related dementia, allegedly got into a fight on
Jan. 26 that led to Gutmann's death.

Gutmann suffered a broken leg and a head injury in the fight. He was
hospitalized, then released, but then was re-hospitalized due to
complications. Four days ago, Gutmann died.

Bloomington Police are investigating the death as suspicious, after being
contacted by an elderly rights group.

A manner of death has not officially been determined.

It's unknown if Gagne would ever be charged because of his mental state.
He has been dismissed from the living facility.

Gutmann was a former cancer research scientist at the University of
Minnesota, who escaped Nazi Germany.

Verne Gagne History

Verne Gagne first entered the world of wrestling in 1949. Before long, he
became the perennial champion and owner/promoter of the American
Wrestling Association.

He was a host of the weekly TV show, All-Star Wrestling, the highest-
rated show on local prime-time television for nearly 40 years.

Over the years, Gagne influenced the careers of Vachon, the Crusher,
Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, and Jesse Ventura.

He was inducted into the World Pro Wrestling Hall of Hame in 1999.

Gagne's signature wrestling move was a sleeper hold.

I think Smackdown is taped on Tuesdays; funny when you read spoilers, because theymay re-do's, for which the explanation is that a move didn't go quite as planned, and needs to be edited in later

I think the last couple of times, they taped two shows to cover 2 weeks. DOn't know if this will be the norm or not... they used to do this back during the WCW-WWF wars, which WCW tried to use to their advantage (Rick Rude appearing on both shows on the same day, WCW giving away the ending of a RAw show)

I usually do read spoilers when I can, as I don't see a lot of smackdown shows

Former WWE star found dead in apartment
We don't have details, but there are multiple reports that Andrew "Test" Martin passed away earlier today at his condo in Tampa.

Martin was four days shy of his 34th birthday.

Police in Tampa confirmed a death in the condo but wouldn't identify the name, but numerous sources within wrestling have confirmed it was him. No details as to the death were reported.

Martin last wrestled with WWE in February, 2007, when he was released after failing a drug test. He worked a few weeks with TNA but the company decided against hiring him. He had of late worked some tours for Nu Wrestling Evolution, and most recently had worked in Japan on shows promoted by Leon "Vader" White.

TAMPA - Another former professional wrestler with ties to the Bay Area
has been found dead.

Andrew James Martin, better known to fans as 'Test,' was found dead in
his apartment in Hillsborough County according to a release issued by
the Tampa Police Department.

Foul play is not suspected.

Officers were dispatched to Martin's unit at the Post Harbour complex just
after 8 p.m. Friday to conduct a welfare check.

A neighbor contacted authorities after observing a motionless Martin, 33,
through a window over a span of several hours.

TPD officers entered the apartment and found the former World Wrestling
Entertainment performer to be deceased.

Martin, who worked as a bouncer in his native Canada before being
discovered, joined the WWE in 1998. He won several of the organization's
major championships before suffering a severe back injury.

In July 2004 Martin underwent spinal fusion surgery and was released
from his WWE contract a few months later.

He attempted several comebacks, most recently with the TNA
organization, but health problems forced Martin to announce his
retirement in December 2007.

Martin also ran afoul of the law on two occassions since calling it quits,
getting arrested on driving under the influence charges in both Pasco and
Hillsborough counties.

The official cause of death is not known at this time.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Martin is the fourth former professional wrestlers to pass away in the Bay
Area in the past two years.

- Scott 'Bam Bam' Bigelow, 46, was found dead of a drug overdose in his
Pasco County home on January 19, 2007.

- Mike Alfonso - who wrestled under the moniker Mike Awesome -
committed suicide in his Hillsborough County home on February 17,
2007. He was 42.

- Brian Adams, 44, died of a drug overdose in his Tampa home in
August 2007. He performed under several names in his professional
wrestling career, working mostly as a tag-team wrestler.

In February 2003, Curt Henning, who wrestled as 'Mr. Perfect,'
during his stint with the WWE, was found dead in a Tampa hotel room. He
was scheduled to wrestle at the Fairgrounds the day he died; the official
cause of death in that case was determined to be cocaine intoxication.

One thought:

HBK gave Flair a Rolex when he retired. There's no way Flair is going
back in the ring.

Flair'll do some mic work and some run-ins though.
