(CNN) -- Bitter cold gripped most of the United States on Monday, with temperatures dipping below normal from coast to coast.

Wayne Slivka of Euclid, Ohio, brushes snow off his scarf as he shovels snow Sunday.

Temperatures in the Upper Midwest and Northern Plains were about 30 degrees below normal, CNN meteorologist Bonnie Schneider said.

"It's very hard to find any part of the country that's warm," Schneider said.
I know it's cold HERE! :-D And we got a lot of snow yesterday as well (something we pray for every winter, living in a desert and all... drought is always a worry).

Are all you By-Torians out there doing okay?

Doing ok in Ohio. It's a bit warmer today (20 degrees F) with an inch of snow. I think it's lovely, but everyone seems to be complaining around me.

Glad you're okay. I think the snow is beautiful too. But once the Christmas season is over, I'm usually ready for spring. :-D

dude, in all seriousness, with the exception of Ford Field, which we got to go inside, and Comerica park, downtown Detroit is a shithole, (my apolgies to anyone who lives there).. anyhoo it looks like they spruced up select buildings and forgot the rest. Its funny how you see this ultra modern building right next to a building that is falling down. I did see Canada across the river, I wanted to go over there, but I did not know what the requirements are to get back in the US.
