I once had a metal shaving in my foot.
I had my mom look at my food one night after I'd walked around and the sole of my foot was hurting badly. She pulled out a piece of metal about an inch long and most of that was in my foot. My guess is on the last day it was in there (it'd been in there for around two weeks), the metal had moved somewhere in my foot, probably hitting some new tissue.
