Well, I don't have time to type a lot of the wonderful stories that came out of the day. But they say a picture says a thousand words, so maybe these'll help.
Upon arrival (took about 6 hours to drive) we went to the venue first to get our tickets out of will call. Here were are posing in front of the place.

We went to the motel to get checked in and then Stesha wanted to go back to the theater, even though doors wouldn't open for about three hours. We had reserved seats, row four, so getting good seats wouldn't be a problem.
Anyway, we went and stalked 'round the outside of the theater. We found the service entrance and found the warm up band (a duo from Ireland called Oppenheimer) unloading their stuff. But then a little later who should appear but They Might Be Giants' lead guitarist and bassist. We got a blurry picture of a very happy Stesha with them...

I had talked to the theater manager who was standing around out front as well. He thought Stesha's excitement was so cute, and was impressed by the distance we'd travelled for her and he started becoming very helpful. He had an assistant manager think of an excuse to allow us into the lobby during sound check so that Stesha could listen. She was on cloud nine. She had also sighted her favorite member on the street earlier walking back from Starbucks but hadn't been able to get near him. Sound check really excited her.
Then we were back on the street and who should appear but their drummer, Marty Beller:

And then, joy of all joys, her object of adoration John Linnell (the accordion/keyboard guy) came out. We didn't get a picture but she got to speak very briefly with him and get an autograph.
After the show she also got an autograph from the other band leader.
By that time it seemed like half the theater staff knew who my girl was and was rooting for her to have her dreams come true. And they did.
I bought a shirt to take home to my younger daughter who couldn't come and was able to get the bass player to autograph it for her.
It was a wonderful day.
