I have no idea what the age of the earth is. But I did start a thread about ice core samples that went back 800,000 years (or something like that...).

There is a lot of information for people to digest there. On both ends of the debate. And just because some or all of us don't agree to which is right lets all remember it makes no one better or worse because of it.

I think everyone needs a "chill pill."

Funny to say "chill pill" in a heated discussion about global warming. Come to think of it, "heated discussion" isn't bad either.

Once again I didn't say you were a liar! It is more than likely true as we are seeing weather extremes due to climate change, heck it's been snowing all day here. Being 50 I remeber when the seasons were like 4 gentel hills now each of those hills are compressed and all the seasons have been on a rollar coaster hot a few weeks then the temp drops for a few weeks, then back up during the last few years I noticed this wasn't ever like that before we had some what a smooth transion thru the seasons. I wouldn't expect younger people to notice warming trends, nor anyone see as I do and notice things like that. At any rate get it out of your head about me calling you a liar that's obsurded.

Twins, 8, invent 'wedgie-proof' underpants

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Bully-proof underwear earned 8-year-old twin Ohio boys a spot Friday on daytime TV talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Using rigged boxers and fabric fasteners to hold together some seams, Jared and Justin Serovich came up with the "Rip Away 1000," a pair of underwear that cannot be jerked up to give its wearer a painful "wedgie."

"When the person tries to grab you ? like the bully or the person tries to give you a wedgie ? they just rip away," Justin explained Thursday by phone from Los Angeles, where the TV segment was taped Wednesday.

The brothers began brainstorming one day after they were playing around, giving each other the treatment. Their mother's partner sarcastically said someone ought to invent wedgie-proof underwear, the family said.

The project got the boys to the finals of a central Ohio invention competition earlier this year, followed by the television appearance.

Washington, Nov.22 (ANI): A pair of physicists at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, has claimed that the observation of dark energy, thought to be speeding up cosmic expansion, might have accidentally decreased the life expectancy of the universe.

Lawrence Krauss and his colleague James Dent believe that by making this observation in 1998, they might have caused the universe to revert to a state similar to early in its history, when it was more likely to end.

"Incredible as it seems, our detection of the dark energy may have reduced the life-expectancy of the universe," says Krauss.

Can you believe this? By observing dark energy, scientists are shortening the life of the universe!

Well, I have a solution. I would like to offer to scientists dark energy offsets. You write me a check for $1,000 and I will not observe dark energy so that you can. I promise I will not observe dark energy. That's a mere $1,000. And I will get my family to not observe dark energy for $5,000. That's a yearly thing. These are just dark energy offsets, and every year we have to do it. And we have to reduce the observation of dark energy quickly. We are running out of time, and if we don't reduce our observation of dark energy, the universe will collapse on us... probably within the next 10 to 20 years.

The UN will probably release a really big report about this in the next year. And they'll have some sort of a multi-national treaty that everyone will have to sign onto. And it will involve a lot of new taxes. But because the Bush administration would like to accelerate the end of the universe, the US will not sign onto it. That's why anybody who really cares about the universe will want to purchase dark energy offsets, don't you think?

So everyone in the scince community, especially you colleges that might be teaching yung scientists how to do this, take a good hard look at your observation footprint. And when you want to make things right, I'm here for you!
