$2.90 here this morning....

In a 24 hour time frame the gas station I pass to and from work went from $2.99 to $2.86 / gallon. 12 Hours ago it was $2.94 / gallon.

I paid $2.67 this morning...sweet.

We're paying less than we did a year ago...finally.

I noticed that the stations in town were all either $3.19 or $3.29 and was pretty happy about that (although grumbling after finding out my aunt is paying about a dollar less!) and then I went to Costco and found the gas there to be only $2.85! I was stoked!

$2.53 here

I'm kinda doing it...I have a manual 5 speed 2001 Toyota
Tacoma (4cyl.) 4WD, and I'm getting 31mpg out of it.

Dealer sticker had rated it at 20mpg highway.

Not doing anything stupid like some hardcore HM's, just common sense stuff
that doesn't put anyone at risk.

I have always done some things that are good for mileage like taking my foot off the gas a bit sooner instead of braking (not so soon though that it causes trouble behind me), using my cruise control, not starting or stopping quickly at lights, simple stuff. I even found out that if I am using cruise control on my home road and take the cruise control off at the top of the last hill before my drive, I will stay within proper speeds and not have to use the gas again, even after turning into my driveway! LOL

Against the law in MA and the state troopers have said if you are caught doing it they WILL hit you with a heavy fine.

Guess it depends on exactly what Siggs is doing. If he's not doing anything stupid that puts people at risk, I expect he's not tailgaiting to draft.

Yeah that is a little extreme it can't be that much better than the wind on your car clear thoug hdue to the turbulent loops that would be generated by the back edges of the trailer.

If you get right on the trailer there is no drag. Like in Nascar, that's why they do it.

Conserve fuel and then go to rippin.

aye but nascars are aerodynamically designed to prevent turbulent flow even on their backdraft to prevent slowing hence slipstreaming being more plausible, I figured as the transport is not smooth the rough edge sudden discontuity in flow would cause the air to rush in creating a higher turbulent flow. But yes if your were REALLY close you would be in a vacuum in this case.
