I have a '82 Pacer! Suh-WEEET.
Does it have the "banana" headstock like the '82?
Been to the Vintage Kramer site yet?

The 82 Pacer is a black Pacer Special with a single Schaller humbucker with coil tap and a vintage trem without a lock nut. It's a BXXXX serial number with the classic chicken beak headstock. It's all original. I bought it off a guy that I used to play in a garage band with. He had two Pacers but he wanted to buy a Gibson SG that a local shop had, so he sold this one to me including a Fender tweed hardshell case.
The one he was keeping had the lock nut and the Rockinger trem on it.

Well shit, I don't have the registry, so I was taking a stab at its age.
Mine has a "
Cxxxx" Serial number, so it must be a later model.
It's got the Floyd locking trem still on it.
MY BAD.

BTW - I read all 20+ pages of this thread! LOL
Thanks for giving me a place to talk guitars. I don't have anyone around that plays, so no one to talk about them with.
I really loved all the pics of all of the guitars. I'll have to get some pics of mine and post them.
The Baretta 1 I have is flip-flop white with black hardware. It's a blast to play. Not as versatile as the Pacer, but the action is better and I just love the tone for playing rock.
I also have a really old Gibson acoustic that belonged to my Grandaddy. It's the first guitar I ever played. I love it, but I play it sparingly due to it's age.

Well TOW, you're more than welcome here, and we could use the company.

I am guessing at the age on this one too, sort of. I bought it in 84 from my buddy. He bought it new. He had owned it about a year, maybe a little less. So it could be anywhere from a 81 to an 83, but comparing it to the info on the classic Kramer site, and based on the fact that I bought it used in 84, my best guess is that it's an 82.
I know the Baretta is an 87, cause it was only 6 months old when I bought it. The guy gave me the receipt from the place that he purchased it. They had ordered it from Kramer because they didn't have a Baretta in stock when he went in to buy one.

Did the Mod at VK offer you 50 bucks for the guitar?
I joined VK and he was the first one that responded:
"Say there young man - I'll give ya 50 bucks for that there geetar!"

True story, but I JOINED and haven't had time to see the whole site.
There's good info there but you gotta search for it.

I'm STILL learnin' Brudda......and I'm OHHHHHLD.
Just kidding. I AM stuck on Rush and LZ tunes though, and refuse
to be flexible and try new things...my fault I know, but I'm totally engrossed
to be able to learn Alex's technique. I'll NEVERRRR get
his SOUND, so I gotta go for what's attainable, and that's his CHOPS.

Maybe not shred like Vai, but you can solo.
