I understand that way back when, the settlers were calling the town Geneva. But when they started trying to coax the railroad to build its line through the area, the railroad wasn't really interested in taking that route. They eventually convinced the railroad by re-naming their town after the president of the railroad. Mr. Orem gave in and chose that route to build.
