December 7 was designated by Congress as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, to honor the more than 2,400 military personnel who died on December 7, 1941, in a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

A friend recently went to the memorial in Hawaii and she was so touched by it that as she told us of her trip she began to cry.

Here we were then......................like mid July of 1989... Myself........OLS, Miki and Pat...............They got married too.
The movie prior to the boat to the memorial, makes almost everyone teary eyed..............even the Japanese tourists.
The memorial is positioned over the Arizona, almost like a cross.
The flag pole is the Arizona's own flag pole.
One of the gun turrets, is clearly visible just off the port side of the memorial.
If anyone ever gets to the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, go see this!!!!!!!!!

The funeral I attended today was for a veteran. The Honor Guard was most concientious about the flag, as they should be. They didn't like the way it was folded so after the internment was over they asked to re-fold the flag again so they could get it perfect.

The thing was, it was not really badly folded, just not perfect. One corner didn't look juuuuuuuuuuuust right. Attention to detail like that shows the respect that I believe our service men and women deserve.

was it a USMC Honor Guard? Man, those guys/gals do it right. How they do that with parade gloves on is beyond me.
