Glad you guys are okay Xan.

See where the Washington Monument and Nat'l Cathedral are damaged?

We had another jolt last night at about 1:15am

There's nothing like being rousted from deep sleep by a tremor.

I know the westies are laughing at us, but so what.

If you're not accustomed to these things it makes you feel helpless...

I told off a DB from California that thought it was funny we were acting like it was a big deal - earthquakes ARE a big deal here!

We're used to snowstorms, hurricanes, and the occasional tornado - not earthquakes!

I am from CA but I am not laughing at you. I would be if you were freaking out at. 4.0 but a near 6 is a decent size quake.

Too bad they don't build 'em here on the e-side like they do in SoCal, right?

***sarcasm off***

Merciful God, please help us all on the Atlantic seaboard and keep us safe
while we ride these awful events out.

In Jesus' name we pray. AMEN.

Good news: no damage to my house and my family is unhurt

Bad news: going on 52 hours without power and my fridge has spoiled.

(I don't want to seem like an ingrate - believe me this makes me appreciate what we have even more now that I have no access to it)

good news about your house and family bro.. sucks about the power.. a few years back, we lost power for a week due to an ice storm.. that sucked big time so I know what you are going through.. although I put food out on the back porch and it was -7 out.. so at least I did not have any food go bad.. Hope it comes back on soon bro!!
Happy 2015!

I did everything humanly possible to try to keep the food but it didn't work out.

We got power back at 2:30 yesterday afternoon - hot shower for me!!

EDIT - I have to say my good mood was tempered somewhat when I went around the corner from my house yesterday and saw a house that had two large trees resting against it - there also appeared to be a red "condemned" sticker on the house.
