Chavez minister vows more Venezuela radio closings

CARACAS, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Venezuela will pull the plug on 29 more radio stations, a top official in President Hugo Chavez's government said on Saturday, just weeks after dozens of other outlets were closed in a media clampdown.

Infrastructure Minister Diosdado Cabello closed 34 radio stations in July, saying the government was "democratizing" media ownership. Critics say the move limits freedom of expression and has taken critical voices off the airwaves.

The powerful Chavez ally has threatened to close over 100 stations in total, part of a long-term campaign against private media that the government says are biased against Chavez's government.

"Another 29 will be gone before long," he told thousands of Chavez supporters at a political rally, without giving details which stations would be closed or when.
If this administration gets its way similar things will be happening soon here. But it won't be done under the claim of "democratizing" media ownership... it will be done in the name of diversity. You can hear the talk starting around Washington already, "Not enough minorities own radio stations!" etc.

So why don't they just buy some. Oh wait, they would rather pull out that victim card and make a stink over it.

Radio stations here suck anyway.

My favorite DC/MD rock station, that played the BEST METAL IN
EXISTENCE (WHFS), went LATIN a couple of years ago, like a thief
in the night.

BAM! Instant Mexican radio. Overnight.

We were devastated.

All that's left here are ClearChannel corporate stations. Yuck.

In a statement in an article posted a half hour past midnight on the Washington Post?s website, Van Jones said he was subjected to ?a vicious smear campaign? by ?opponents of reform.?
How is playing people your speeches and showing them what you've written a smear campaign? That would be like me claiming anyone who tells people that I'm a Mormon and a single father who loves Carvin guitars is viciously smearing me!

"Baghdad Bob" will tell us the "truth" about Van Jones at the White House
presser.

(Isn't it interesting that we haven't heard squat from the White House over this?)

When the White House contacted the Glenn Beck show to ask him to please stop calling them "czars" and just call them "special advisers to the President" he took the opportunity to ask them directly, "Were you aware of Jones' radical activities and self-avowed communism?"

The only answer the White House would give is (paraphrasing), "We have him very narrowly focused in his activities." Of course they knew, and they approved.

Van Jones = Saul Alinski = Jeremiah Wright = Barack Obama.

I saw that, and did you notice:

The very night that O'Reilly had Beck on for Beck's weekly appearance
on "The Factor" (almost immediately after the WH made the request)....

O'Reilly dumbed down and called them "Advisers," while Beck still called
them Czars!

My hat's off to Beck for sticking to his guns. My respect for O'Reilly has
really waned after that incident. He caved in to the suits.

Beck has guts. Every libtard in existence is gunning for him now.

If you ever wondered what a community organizer does or what ACORN does, we now have video that will clear things up for you.

http://www.breitbart.tv/shock-undercove ... avoid-law/
Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

BALTIMORE (AP) - The group ACORN has fired two employees who were seen on hidden-camera video giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman who pretended to be a prostitute.

Fox News Channel broadcast excerpts from the video Thursday. On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN's Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."

The pair also claimed they planned to employ teenage girls from central America as prostitutes, and an ACORN employee suggested that up to three of the girls could be claimed as dependents, according to transcripts of the video posted online by conservative activist James O'Keefe.

O'Keefe told Fox he posed as the pimp and that he was shocked by the ACORN employees' helpfulness.

In a statement, ACORN Maryland board member Margaret Williams said the video was an attempt to smear ACORN, and that undercover teams attempted similar setups in at least three other ACORN offices.

Williams said no tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided.

ACORN?which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now?advocates for poor people. It conducted a massive voter registration effort last year and became a target of conservatives when some employees were accused of submitting false registration forms with names such as "Mickey Mouse." ACORN has said only a handful of employees submitted false registration forms and did so in a bid to boost their pay.
An attempt to smear ACORN? Looks like they smeared themselves pretty well...
