See, that is the thing. I am listening to Atlas as I work and it is a totally different experience than when I first read it at 17. This time I am seeing in the book what I am seeing in the papers and hearing on the news! Just as the title of an article I posted from said, "Atlas Shrugged: From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years!"

I wonder what Neil, Ged, and Al are all thinking as they watch this unfold. I know their philosophy is not identical to hers, however, they did credit her with genius, name their label "Anthem", et cetera.

Hey, Atlas Shrugged! My wife owns that book. I was just looking at it the other day! it's on her desk right now.

I gave her a hard time cuz it's Ayn Rand who as we all know is associated with RUSH if not Neil, and she HATES RUSH.....

It was pretty satisfying.

If politics is like chess.........

And amid all the talk, there was notable silence: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided not to appear on any of the Sunday shows to defend herself after a rocky week.

For Pelosi, last week included a concession that she had been briefed about the use of waterboarding back in 2003 and an accusation the CIA had deliberately misled her and Congress about Bush era interrogation practices.

Health care, the economy and the path to a GOP comeback were also hot topics, not to mention the controversy over President Obama's commencement address at Notre Dame.

With Speaker Pelosi declining offers from "State of the Union" and others to answer questions on Sunday, her Republican critics stepped into the vacuum -- with gusto.

Pelosi's critics fire away

"Lying to the Congress of the United States is a crime. And if the speaker is accusing the CIA and other intelligence officials of lying or misleading the Congress, then she should come forward with evidence and turn that over to the Justice Department so they can be prosecuted. And if that's not the case, I think she ought to apologize to our intelligence professionals around the world." -- House Minority Leader John Boehner on CNN's "State of the Union"

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/05/18/ ... index.html

----------------------------------------------

Tell ya what; I never did like Pelosi much. I'd sacrifice a Pelosi easily, but the resulting outcome may not be what the GOP wants. If they go after Pelosi as they have been (cue growling dogs) then the issue that this is all about, the one that the president doesn't want to drag the former administration through, apparently, will come screaming out into the public eye and ear and the people involved in the illegal torture tactics will be prosecuted.
Hey Boner, better try to resist your frothing desires to trash anyone on the left, mate! Your buddies may suffer because of it.

Personally, I think it is stupidity to try to trash someone from the left cuz they are from the left or from the right cuz they are from the right. Idiotic party politics...
