The distance written on the wall was 315ft forever.
Then a few years back a season started and it said 310 ft.
So there was a discrepancy, you are correc tthere.
I hear that a lot of parks falsley label the distances on the walls.
Not sure why....if everyone does it, no one is fooled!
Same thing with listing height in basketball programs....everyone's listed 2 inches taller.

My mind voted for the Colts and the Vikings, but my heart is wanting to see the Jets and Vikings.
I want to see the matchup between two of the most unlikely to get that far! Who woulda thunk that Favre actually would be able to get the Vikes there in his first year with them? And who woulda thunk that Sanches and Ryan woulda gotten there so quickly?
Without a doubt, the best story line, and would prolly attract more viewers just for the fun of it all!!!!

You know what, as long as it's a good exciting game it shouldn't matter who is in it. Look at last year..............the Card's......... .....and it was a good game even if Pitts won.

The distance from home plate to the Monster has long been disputed. For many years, it was posted as 315 feet (96 m). During the Red Sox pennant race in 1975, an overhead photograph of Fenway Park was shown to a man who had analyzed reconnaissance photos in preparation for bombing missions in World War II. He determined that the foul pole was just 304 feet (93 m) from home plate, but the marker on the wall was not changed. Writers from the Boston Globe once snuck onto the field and measured it as 304.7 ft (93.2 m). In 1990, Red Sox management relabeled the distance at 310 feet (94 m), though many people still believe it to be closer than that.CygnusX1 wrote:I think it's urban legend, and the real issue was disparity in the actualMiddle Kingdom wrote:I've never heard that one....

However, I can't help but remember a saying my dad used to tell me:
"A young man may whip your ass, but a old man will kill you."
Don't start none...won't be none.
Hey Kares6!!! Glad to see ya. How ya been? The Jets sure are a pretty good story this year. Hopefully it comes to an end on Sunday! Truth be told, this game makes me a tad nervous. The Jets are playing with a lot of energy. Should be a good game.Kares4Rush wrote:Could the Jets actually "do" it this year? They shouldn't "be" here yet the beauty of the NFL is that dreams come alive yard by yard.
I'm sorry, Soup. I gotta hunker down and wish for the best.
Happy 2015!
