Obama Thumbs Nose at U.S. Military - Yet Gives
Big Thumbs Up to UN on Successful Iraqi Vote

Taken from www.BrutallyHonest.org

Barack Obama congratulated The United Nations for Iraq's peaceful
elections.

ABC News reported:

"U.S. President Barack Obama has praised Iraq's provincial elections as
an "important step forward" for the future of the country.

"This important step forward should continue the process of Iraqis taking
responsibility for their future," Mr. Obama said in a statement after
millions of Iraqis went to the polls to elect councils in 14 or Iraq's 18
provinces.

"Security for the country's first ballot since 2005 was extremely tight, with
Iraqi police and military deployed in force, and Mr. Obama praised the
technical assistance by the United Nations and other organisations (sic) to
Iraq's electoral commission, which he said "performed professionally
under difficult circumstances.

"Mr Obama said "it is important that the councils get seated, select new
governors and begin work on behalf of the Iraqi people who elected
them."

Fact: The United States still has 130,000 soldiers serving in Iraq.

Fact: The troubled nation has seen a major turnaround due to the Bush
Surge in 2007.

Obama did not mention the American military in his statement.

The president's statement was not posted on the White House website.

This, on top of yesterday's news that Obama's willing to bolster just about
every government agency's budget with the exception of the Pentagon's:

The Obama administration has asked the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff to
cut the Pentagon's budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than
10 percent -- about $55 billion -- a senior U.S. defense official tells FOX News.

Last year's defense budget was $512 billion. Service chiefs and planners
will be spending the weekend "burning the midnight oil" looking at ways
to cut the budget -- looking especially at weapons programs, the defense
official said.

And you might remember Michelle Obama's campaign promise to help
military families. Consider that promise thrown under the Obama bus
(no reference to it in this piece outlining her agenda).

The Obama agenda is crystallizing.

Hey, this makes perfect sense. Obama does not want the America our parents loved. He has admitted that he is a global citizen, and that he envies the European lifestyle.

As he removes our ability to defend ourselves, we will become more like the Europe he loves. Whether is is gradual through social engineering or a radical influence by outside forces, it will happen as long as he is at the helm. Whether the average American wants it is now irrelevant. He won the White House, and he will do as he pleases.

I think the reason Michelle Obama is finally really proud to be an American is because, as it became apparent that her husband would become President, she realized that the U.S. as we know it would soon be going away.

For our President, this was not a snub at the U.S. military. No, quite the opposite. It is the recognition of what we have been ignoring until now . . . the greatness of total international acceptance and compromise.

I think Obama made a big rookie mistake, but it is what it is.

We now know what he said in the campaign - and what he did after oath
concerning the troops - was bravo sierra.

Not a good start with just under four years to go.

The presidency countdown clock has been ordered to start.

I managed to have fun in the last 8 years, no matter how frightening they were made by the billionbarons and war-lovers. I had no idea that Republicans could be as horrified and scared by losing power as they are puff-chested and bulldozerish when they rule.

Perhaps next time (some day in the future) when they re-gain it they will remember what a decade of division and party bullshit can do to the opposition.

Obama tried to include Republicans and they spat in his face. Okay, then. Sit back and enjoy the show, because it must go on, with or without ya.

Out in the woods sounds nice. Will you have a stream and some beautiful hills to climb? Log cabin or uni-bomber shack? Image

We're not - really. But since you brought it up:

Give war a chance.

Peace had a chance, and it didn't really go over well.

(Except for the bad guys. Without the peaceniks, all they have left to hide
behind are human shields and mosque walls. Sucks to be them.)

Oh dude, you'll love it. All the comforts of home - without the protesters
and moonbats!

A well-earned respite from the slings and arrows of political correctness.

You won't want to leave. It's a slice o' heaven.

In the movie, Black Hawk Down, there is a scene where the warlord tells the American pilot that, in their world, killing IS negotiating.

DUH!!!

Not only in war, but also in the world of finance, the liberal Dems must wake up to the fact that there will ALWAYS be a loser!

One cannot create any environment where one does not get the short end of the stick, and the other does better. It's a fantasy!

I agree with Siggy . . . give war a chance!

I'm glad Obama recognized our military's sacrifice in his speech last night.

Apparently, he got the message not to omit them again.

Lets' face the ugly truth: NOBODY is making more sacrifices in these
times than the coalition troops and their families.

Now, among foreign leaders - that will remain to be seen, but last night
was a bridge-building moment.

He made friends out of a few adversaries last night. :) Good for him.
