I'm still disgusted with reporters following O around. Peering through windows at him and similar invasions of privacy are to them not only perfectly acceptable but *goes off grumbling....*

It's the cult-of-personality t.

IMHO, I can't wait until the honeymoon's over.

There's serious business to take care of.

Most of us (yours truly included) wish Obama the best of luck, but the
lovefest fringe has got to take a cold shower, wake up and deal with
what's ahead.

In regards to the current problems in the middle east, I found this video to be rather interesting.

Welcome to MY world, bro.

It's for the best though.

When you face over 300 hack attempts a day, things tend to tighten up.

Well, that's it for me. I am in favor of an all-out extermination of those that want to drive the Jews into the sea. I would cheer at the atomic bombing of the real blight on the planet.

Here's a line that grabbed me;
"O Allah, destroy America, as it is controlled by Zionist Jews...Allah will avenge, in the name of His Prophet, the colonist settlers who are the descendants of monkeys and pigs."
Ikrime Sabri, Mufti of the Palestinian authority.

You dirty sand-cockroaches can't even get rid of a tiny piece of land full of Jews, what makes your puny "brains" think you can do more than make a temporary dent in the mighty U.S.? Dummies need obliterating.

If you want a good "history" lesson, read what Gen. "Blackjack"
Pershing "allegedly" ordered - to deal with Filipino mus**m
fanatics waaaaaay back in 1911.

This is nothing new, and:

THAT'S HOW YOU TAKE OUT THE TRASH.

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/pershing.asp ? :P Read around a few sources and evidence for either the muslim side of no heaven or character of the general for doing such things seems contradictory or non indicative. Neat Idea though (working on the assumption you mean the pig story)

Exposed: The Secret Animal Rights Agenda Of America?s
Next Regulatory Czar

Barack Obama?s pick for ?regulatory czar,? Harvard Law School Professor
Cass Sunstein, may be the incoming president?s most popular
appointment so far. Judging from his resume -- best-selling author, ?pre-
eminent legal scholar of our time,? and an endorsement from The Wall
Street Journal -- we can almost understand why.

Almost.

Because as we?re telling the media today, there?s one troubling portion of
the new Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA)
Administrator?s C.V. that has seems to have flown under everyone?s
radar:

Cass Sunstein is a radical animal rights activist.

Don?t believe us? Sunstein has made no secret of his devotion to the
cause of establishing legal ?rights? for livestock, wildlife, and pets.
?[T]here should be extensive regulation of the use of animals in
entertainment, scientific experiments, and agriculture,? Sunstein wrote in
a 2002 working paper while at the University of Chicago Law school.

?Extensive regulation of the use of animals.?

(That's PETA-speak for using government to get everything PETA and the
Humane Society of the United States can't get through gentle pressure or
not-so-gentle coercion.)

Not exactly the kind of thing American ranchers, restaurateurs,
hunters, and biomedical researchers (to say nothing of ordinary
consumers) would like to hear from their next ?regulatory czar.?

A version of the same paper also appeared as the introduction to
"Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions," a 2004 book that
Sunstein co-edited with then-girlfriend Martha Nussbaum. In that book,
Sunstein set out an ambitious plan to give animals the legal ?right? to file
lawsuits.

We're not joking:

?[A]nimals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their
representatives, to prevent violations of current law ? Any animals that
are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who
would owe guardian like obligations and make decisions, subject to those
obligations, on their clients? behalf.?

****anybody hear "The Twilight Zone" theme music besides me?****

Wait-for-it......Wait-for-it....

It doesn't end there.

Sunstein delivered a keynote speech at Harvard University?s 2007
?Facing Animals? conference. Keep in mind that as OIRA Administrator,
Sunstein will have the political authority to implement a massive federal
government overhaul.

Consider this tidbit:

?We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn?t a purpose other than
sport and fun. That should be against the law. It?s time now.?

Sunstein also argued in favor of ?eliminating current practices such as
greyhound racing, cosmetic testing, and meat eating, most
controversially.?

He concluded his Harvard speech by expressing his ?more ambitious
animating concern? that the current treatment of livestock and other
animals should be considered ?a form of unconscionable barbarity not the
same as, but in many ways morally akin to, slavery and mass
extermination of human beings.?

Sound familiar?

As the individual about to assume ?the most important position that
Americans know nothing about,? Sunstein owes the public an honest
appraisal of his animal rights goals before taking office.

Will the next four years be a dream-come-true for anti-meat,
anti-hunting, and anti-everything-else radicals?

Time will tell.

For now, meat lovers might want to stock their freezers.

Kennedy cites 'personal reasons' for dropping Senate bid

Caroline Kennedy has given up her bid for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton.

In a one-line statement citing personal reasons, the widely considered front-runner said Thursday she told New York Gov. David Paterson a day earlier that she was no longer interested in the job.

"I informed Governor Paterson today that for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the United States Senate."

The statement, provided by Kennedy's press person Stefan Friedman, was issued after hours of divergent reports Wednesday evening.

The 51-year-old daughter of slain President John F. Kennedy has been involved in education reform and women's issues, but she never has held public office and mostly has stayed out of the public spotlight.

Thank Ged! What a trainwreck this one is. In my opinion, worse than Palin. I would have enjoyed the daily attacks on her though. :D
After Bobby was shot, all of the good Kennedys were dead.

President Obama Re-takes Oath Last Night

Power, pop, and probings from ABC News Senior White House
Correspondent Jake Tapper

Obama Took Oath of Office Again Tonight

January 21, 2009 7:55 PM

Chief Justice John Roberts came to the White House tonight and
administered the oath of office to President Obama at 7:35 p.m. ET in the
Map Room.

"Because there was one word out of sequence" in yesterday's oath,
explained White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, the president took
the oath again "out of an abundance of caution."

Only people in the room were President Obama, Roberts, Gibbs, WH
communications staffer Katie Lillie, WH photographer Pete Souza, and
four print reporters.

"We believe that the oath of office was administered effectively and that
the president was sworn in appropriately yesterday," White House
counsel Greg Craig said in a statement. "But the oath appears in the
Constitution itself. And out of an abundance of caution, because there
was one word out of sequence, Chief Justice Roberts administered the
oath a second time."

President Obama was seated on a sofa when the pool reporters walked in
to record the event.

"We decided it was so much fun," Obama joked.

Then Obama stood.

Chief Justice Roberts then put on his robe.

"Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked.

"I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," Obama said.

Total running time of new oath: 25 seconds.

Roberts said, "Congratulations, again."

Caroline's probably got skeletons in her closet that would come back to
bite.

Makes no difference to me, although she would win by a landslide if she
ran.

There's something that chowds just love about the Kennedys.

They keep electing them, no matter what the transgression.

I don't get it, but we are not without transgressions here either.

I won't be a pot calling a kettle black on this one.

It's over. I just don't get the hype over the whole premise.
