Ahhh, TX Soup.

BBO, since this IS the Gas and Oil thread I see you're trying to un-hijack it. (but I still want more fried fish for lunch) I saw a show once where this guy converted used "fry" oil to fuel for his truck. It did smell like french fries but it WORKED!!!

I saw a similar program. A guy owns a restaurant and takes all the old oil and runs his car on it. Delightful :-)

Mmmmmmm, petrol...

My friend ( a water engineer) rigged up his diesel like that to run on like 90% old oil, 10% diesel.

Saw this picture of what the wealth of oil has done for Dubai and thought, "Oil shale could do this for Wyoming if we'd let it..."

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, whose nation is the world's number one oil exporter, called on consumer countries to get used to high prices in comments published on Tuesday.
"Consumer countries have to adapt to the prices and the mechanisms of the market," the king said in an interview published by the Kuwaiti daily Al-Siyassah.

"We have nothing to do with the current sharp increase in crude prices," he said reiterating the Saudi position that speculation, rising demand and the taxation of oil products in consumer countries were to blame.

"These countries must reduce their taxes on fuel.. if they want to contribute to easing the burden on ordinary consumers," he said.
I'm afraid the king is right.
I say hogwash...First off, the Saudis won't say how much oil they have,
but we KNOW that they could increase production at any time if they
so choose.

And frankly, Kuwait OWES US their best efforts in providing oil for our
needs. Iraq did the right thing and signed business contracts with us.

Kuwait on the other hand, should know better. Let FRANCE help 'em the
next time they get invaded...rotsa ruck.

And let's get that oil shale outta the rockies and the crude outta ANWR.

The caribou won't mind at all....and the looney far-left Democrats are
trying to make this issue SO ugly...look at these images and you tell
me:

This is the microscopic area of ANWR that is requested to be drilled:

Not much of a footprint there at ALL, is there? The far left would want
you to think so...knuckleheads...

Here are Moose....totally suffering and oppressed from the evils of
Alaskan oil drilling:

This has GOT to stop...I mean...WHERE'S THE HUMANITY?

And my favorite....A Grizzly Bear - looking for the plant management - to
complain about unfair living conditions caused by Alaskan drilling:

Don't believe the hype folks. The far left is going balls-out on this one.

They WANT you to suffer AND pay higher taxes. Obama and Pelosi must
be defeated for the good of the nation.

We only buy a small percentage of our oil from the Saudi's. The bulk comes from Canada and Mexico.

But I was talking about his taxation comment. A barell of OPEC oil costs the same to the Brits (for example) as it does to us. Yet they pay dollars more a gallon at the pump. And that's all because of their government's taxes.

I do think that speculation and high goverment taxes are a big reason why we are getting killed at the pump. But on the other hand, I would be willing to bet Kuwait and the Saudi's have a bigger hand in this than they would ever admit to.. I am with Sigs. next time they are invaded, they should call France.. Kuwait and the Saudis owe us big time..
