Caress of Steel is one of my all time favorites....Especially "The Necromancer", where Alex gets this incredible solo going, and just when you think: "Is this all there is?", he POUNDS your listening senses with a chorus/stereo solo, making you think there were two guitars playing the same notes, with alternating stereo channels a la Led Zep....THANK YOU ALEX! It was a life-changing experience for me...and THEN 2112 came out...hahaha
I bought them when they first went on sale, and still listen to this day...In fact, I've turned two nephews on to Rush and the torch has been passed....By the way Alex, I met you in Barbados waaaay back in '79...I was a 19 year-old in the Navy...You signed my post cards and were so gracious, even though you were on vacation....Thank you...You said Geddy and Neil were in Jamaica at the time, so I'm thinking they got the worst of the deal....Barbados ROCKED!!! hahaha
I caught you guys at Nissan Pavillion in DC/VA at the Vapor Trails show...Had a blast, and you guys sound just as good as you did when I saw you years ago at Warner Theater in DC...Too bad the weather was rainy and nasty! Geddy got pelted with rain...I think you were stage left, and had some shelter, but man....what a storm! And you guys didn't miss a note! Thank you from a fan for LIFE....
